MOSCOW, September 20 (Itar-Tass) - Security forces incapacitated a real large drug trafficking grouping in the course of Thunder’2013 exercise of special assignment troops of the CIS Collective Security Treaty Organization /CSTO/ in Kyrgyzstan, Viktor Ivanov, the director of Russia’s federal service controlling the circulation of narcotic drugs told Itar-Tass by telephone.
CSTO units confiscated about 50 kg of opioids and about 40 kg of marijuana, he said.
“In the course of an exercise in the Osh region of Kyrgyzstan, the units eliminated a grouping that was transiting a consignment of 50 kg of opioids and 40 kg of marijuana,” Ivanov said. “They also found a cache with arms, which belonged to the criminals. Hand-grenades and machine-guns were found there.”
