BEIJING, September 12 (Itar-Tass) - China completely supports denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and calls for maintaining security and stability there, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told reporters on Thursday commenting on the reports that North Korea appeared to have restarted a plutonium reactor at Yongbyon.
The diplomat said the region’s denuclearization met “common interests of all parties” and consolidated efforts were needed to achieve this goal.
“China has paid attention to the information” saying that North Korea probably has revived its mothballed reactor producing plutonium, Hong said.
