MOSCOW, September 10 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s chemical weapons initiative may prevent a war in Syria, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian said on Tuesday.

“Iran denounces the use of chemical weapons and welcomes any initiative that is targeted at resolving Syria’s problem by political means,” he said. “We should use the opportunity and prevent a war in Syria.”
