ASHGABAT, September 1 (Itar-Tass) - Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has dismissed the republic's prosecutor-general Yaranmyrat Yazmyradov in connection with "serious shortcomings in the work" and Ashgabat's prosecutor Movlamberdy Garayev for "the use of his position for self-interest purposes". The corresponding decrees were published by Turkmen media on Sunday.
Deputy National Security Minister Baimurad Altyev, in charge of Ashgabat, is also removed from office.
Amanmyrat Khallyev, ex-chairman of the Supreme Court, is appointed as prosecutor-general. The post of Supreme Court head is taken by former justice minister Begench Charyev.
