OTTAWA, September 1 (Itar-Tass) - Canada has allocated to Syria’s opposition 5.3 million dollars for propagandistic purposes, representatives of Canada’s foreign ministry said on Saturday adding they had been coordinating closely the efforts with the US and the UK.
The money was sent by two trances: one million dollars - in spring of 2012, and the rest - in autumn. It was spent for buying of telecommunication equipment - radio stations and cell phones, for training of bloggers and reporters, the source said. About 650,000 dollars were spent for financing of the Syrian centre to support justice, which employees had the task to support registration of human rights’ violations in Syria.
