UNITED NATIONS, August 31 (Itar-Tass) - The United Nations is not planning to withdraw its staff from Syria despite reports that Western countries are preparing a military operation against Damascus.

Martin Nesirky, an official spokesperson for the United Nations secretary-general, told journalists on Saturday that more than a thousand Syrian U.N. employees, who were providing relief aid, would continue their mission in Syria.
