THE HAGUE, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - The United States and its partners are acting on Syria in the same way they acted in Iraq, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said.
“After reviewing the situation we can say that this is a similar scheme: accusations of using weapons of mass destruction and the submission of the relevant draft to the U.N. Security Council, mentioning Chapter 7 and the need to take further action,” he said on Wednesday, August 28.
“This is followed by a unilateral strike after the logical failure of the attempt to get the resolution passed,” Gatilov said, adding, “They [Americans] are not offering anything new, even for themselves, by using this scheme.”
