MOSCOW, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - Russia will further help its citizens, who seek to leave Syria, the Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday.

“Russia takes steps towards ensuring security of Russian diplomatic missions in Syria,” the report says.

“We continue contributing to Russian citizens, who seek to leave Syria due to the aggravation of the situation,” it adds.

“We’ll continue to provide humanitarian aid to the Syrian people within specialized organizations and within the bilateral format,” the report says.

Within “the humanitarian bridge” of August 27-28 two aircraft of the Emergency Situations Ministry delivered 15 tons of urgent aid to Latakia. “We delivered foodstuffs and other essentials. By flying back the aircraft transported Russian citizens, who lived in Syria permanently and who wished to return home. There were 116 people in total,” the Ministry said.
