KIEV, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - Director of the information policy department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Yevgeny Perebeinos thanked Russian partners for the aid in the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Syria. A Russian emergency airplane evacuated eight Ukrainian citizens from Latakia to Moscow, he told reporters on Wednesday.
Diplomats from the Ukrainian Embassy welcomed Ukrainian compatriots at the Domodedovo airport and gave aid to them in passing passport and border control and their delivery to Ukraine. “We are grateful to our Russian partners for the aid in the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens,” the Ukrainian diplomatic official said.
In his words, a total of 99 Ukrainian citizens were evacuated from that country with the assistance of Russia since the critical situation emerged in Syria.
