VLADIVOSTOK, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - Rescuers of the regional department of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) found a drifting boat with seven people in the Sea of Japan off the coast of the Primorye Territory on Tuesday night.
"A resident of the Kavalerovsky district, Primorye Territory, sailed to sea in an inflatable motor boat with six passengers but ran out of petrol and the people had to send a distress signal," the press service of the regional EMERCOM department said.
Taking part in the rescue effort was a group of six specialists of the Dalnegorsk rescue center on two motor boats, assisted by four servicemen on a coastguard vessel. The drifting boat was detected two hours after the beginning of the rescue operation. Everybody was brought to the shore safely and the rescuees did not request medical assistance, the report said.
