NAZRAN, August 27 (Itar-Tass) - Warlord from the Malgobek gang Artur Getazhayev is involved in the murder of Secretary of the Ingush Security Council Akhmed Kotiyev, a source in the republican investigating agencies told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
“This gang is involved in several attempts on the life of law enforcers and a terrorist act, which was committed at funerals of a police officer (in August 2012 - Itar-Tass),” the source said. “Several people, who were staying together with Getazhayev, are being identified. The search for him is underway,” the source said.
A car VAZ-21099, in which Kotiyev and his driver were going, came under fire on the Malgobek-Nazran road near the settlement of Nizhniye Achaluki in Malgobek district on Tuesday morning. The driver died instantly at the scene. Kotiyev died of injuries on the way to the hospital. A murder case was opened.
The previous attempt on the life of Kotiyev was committed about a year ago. At that time an unidentified gunman shot at Kotiyev’s house from an underbarrel grenade launcher; the house was damaged, but Kotiyev himself was not injuring during the incident.
