International humanitarian mine clearing center opens near Managua

The authorities of the Central American country decided to name the Center in honor of "Russo-Nicaraguan friendship"

MEXICO CITY, August 21 (Itar-Tass) - An International humanitarian mine clearing center (IHMC), set up with a "decisive assistance" from the Russian Ministry for Emergencies, opened on the outskirts of Nicaragua's capital Managua on Tuesday.

Julio Cesar Aviles, Commander-in-Chief of the Nicaraguan Army, said at the IHMC opening ceremony that the authorities of the Central American country decided to name the Center in honor of "Russo-Nicaraguan friendship".
