Train runs over 20 people in eastern India

Over 30 injured were rushed to nearby hospitals

NEW DEHLI, August 19. (Itar-Tass). – In the Bihar state in northwestern India a train has overrun several people that were crossing the railway lines at the Dhamara station on Monday. As a result 20 people died and over 30 people were injured, according to IBN TV channel.

The train on the way from Saharsa to Patnu, the state’s capital, was moving on full speed beside the platform. At that moment the passengers from a train that arrived earlier started to cross the railway lines towards the waiting room.

The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.

The accident provoked a confrontation between Saharsa locals and the station’s administration. Because of that the ambulances cannot reach the emergency site.
