TOKYO, August 18 (Itar-Tass) - A 5.0 earthquake hit the Hachijo Island in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, Japan’s national meteorological agency reports

No casualties or destruction have been reported. There is no threat of a tsunami.

The epicenter was located to the south off the island at a depth of about 10 kilometers under the sea bed. Underground tremors were felt in Tokyo.
