Russian presidential aide, Japanese education minister discuss inter-university exchanges

Shimomura also said he wished more Japanese student could undergo study courses in Russia

MOSCOW, August 16 (Itar-Tass) - Russian president’s aide Andrei Fursenko met on Friday with Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Hakubun Shimomura to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the area of science and technologies, and problems of inter-university exchanges.

“We are set to promote internationalization at our higher education establishments, to motivate our students to improve their foreign language skills and to help universities that are taking efforts in the area of the globalization of the educational system,” the Japanese minister said.

Shimomura also said he wished more Japanese student could undergo study courses in Russia.
