Chinese naval exercises to start in East China Sea

These are second Chinese naval exercises in the East China Sea since the beginning of summer

BEIJING, August 15 (Itar-Tass) - The Navy of the People'a Liberation Army of China begins four-day exercises with service firing in the East China Sea on Thursday, the newspaper "Zhongguo Ribao" reports.

The paper does not give details of the exercises, reporting only that the sea area of the city of Xianshan (eastern province of Zhejiang) will be their venue. The zone was declared closed to navigation and fishery until August 24.
