BANGKOK, August 13 (Itar-Tass) - Indonesian rescuers are searching for a Russian climber who went missing while ascending Java’s tallest active volcano Merapi, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to rescuers, the 26-year-old Russian man began his ascend several days ago. On Saturday, he texted to his girl friend asking her to arrange for help. On Monday, he sent another SMS message telling his whereabouts - somewhere by a river.
The search operation is to no avail so far.
