KIEV, July 24 (Itar-Tass) - Thousands of pilgrims will take part in the festivities devoted to the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, Ukrainian first vice-premier Sergei Arbuzov said on Wednesday.
The major events will be held in the Ukrainian capital that is why the city authorities should be ready to accept thousands of pilgrims, Arbuzov said.
He instructed the Ministry of Infrastructure to help Kiev ensure transportation of the guests. The Healthcare Ministry has been ordered “to provide enough places at medical institutions” and the Interior Ministry has been instructed to maintain order”, the first vice-premier said.
“Orthodox faith and Christian values have always united Ukrainians and created the base of statehood,” Arbuzov stressed.
