TURKU, Finland, June 25 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday he hoped his talks with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto would make it possible to solve the most sensitive problems.

“I hope this visit and the talks with the president of Finland will make it possible to focus attention on the most sensitive issues, including on cooperation in the border regions,” Putin said at a news conference after the talks.

According to Putin, himself and the Finnish president “spoke in detail about all key cooperation areas.” He reminded that Russia “has been Finland’s number one trade and economic partner in the past three years.” “It is pleasing to note that along with energy cooperation, we have been cooperating in other sphere as well,” Putin noted.

He said that the talks also centered round cooperation within the Arctic Council, on cooperation in the Baltic Sea region, and on contacts between the two countries’ defence ministers.
