Police force protesters out of Istanbul park

Earlier on Saturday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked all the protesters to leave Gezi before Sunday

ANKARA, June 16 (Itar-Tass) - Turkish security forces began to remove the camp of protesters from Gezi Park in Istanbul on Saturday. Police used water cannons and tear gas against the demonstrators, CNN Turk television said on Saturday.

There were also reports about dispersal of demonstrators at Istanbul's central Taksim Square.

Earlier on Saturday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked all the protesters to leave Gezi before Sunday. The premier noted the park belonged to all people, but not the illegal organizations that settled there, and security forces could clear it.
