Riots in Turkey not affect Russian tourists - RST spokesperson

Protest actions were held in all key cities of Turkey - Izmir, Adana, Samsun, Gaziantep, as well as in Ankara

MOSCOW, June 3 (Itar-Tass) - Mass riots in Turkey did not affect Russian tourists, spokesperson for the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) Irina Tyurina told Itar-Tass on Monday.

“The riots occur in the administrative centres. Our tourists have the rest on beaches where all is calm,” Tyurina said.

She noted, “No calls from Russians staying in Turkey have been received.”

“We’ve told those who leave for Istanbul what has happened there. We’ve told them about the need to be farther from the area of disturbances and be careful. But one should realise that this is not the city of mass tourism. Russians go to Turkey on excursions for two or three days,” Tyurina said.

Protest actions were held in all key cities of Turkey - Izmir, Adana, Samsun, Gaziantep, as well as in Ankara.
