MOSCOW, May 9 (Itar-Tass) - A detachment of Russian Baltic Fleet warships will call at the Greek port of Piraeus on Thursday, a spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry told Itar-Tass.
“On May 9, a detachment of Baltic Fleet warships, including the Yaroslav Mudry frigate, the Lena tanker, and the SB-921 rescue tug, will call at the port of Piraeus. Their business visit will last till May 12. Over their stay at Piraeus, the ships will replenish their water and food reserves and crew members will have an opportunity to make sightseeing tours of Piraeus and Athens and have some rest,” the spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, after the visit to Piraeus, the ships will continue their mission in the Mediterranean Sea.
Apart from that, it is planned that a detachment of the Russian Pacific Fleet warship, including the Admiral Panteleyev unti-submarine destroyer, the Peresvet and the Admiral Nevelskoi landing ships, the Pechenga tanker,and the Fotiy Krylov rescue tug, will arrive in the Mediterranean Sea on May 15 to train joint actions with ships of other Russian fleets. On May 17, the Pacific Fleet ships will call at Cyprus’ port of Limassol.
