MOSCOW, April 30 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s Ministry for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense /EMERCOM/ is dispatching more consignments of humanitarian aid to China in the wake of a powerful earthquake there, an official at EMERCOM’s information department told Itar-Tass.
“A departure of two Ilyushin-76 cargo jets from the Ramenskoye airdrome near Moscow has been scheduled for Tuesday,” he said. “They will deliver prime necessities and foodstuffs to China. The total weight of the consignment is about 36 tons.”
Sunday, an EMERCOM jet delivered 13.5 tons of relief supplies to the Chinese city of Chengdu.
