MOSCOW, April 25 (Itar-Tass) - Over 100 Russian citizens and the citizens of the CIS states that wanted to leave Syria arrived by a Russian emergency airplane to Moscow on Thursday, a spokesman of the Moscow airport Domodedovo told Itar-Tass.
“The airplane Il-62 from Latakia landed at 00:48 Moscow time on Thursday,” the spokesman said. As many as 104 people, including 76 Russian citizens, 21 Ukrainian citizens, six Belarusian citizens and one Uzbek citizen, arrived in Russia by this special flight. There are 45 children, 37 women and 22 men among them.
They came back to Russia by one of two Russian emergency airplanes, which brought about 26 tonnes of relief supplies on Wednesday for the population of Syria, where the military conflict continues already for several years. The relief supplies included foodstuffs, first necessities and medical equipment, which were raised by the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
From the beginning of this year several special flights of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, including the special flight on Thursday, evacuated 383 people, including the citizens of Russia and the CIS states, from Syria.
