OTTAWA, April 22 (Itar-Tass) - Maret Tsarnaeva, aunt of Tamerlan and Dhokhar suspected of committing the act of terror during the Boston marathon, said she received threats by telephone. She lives in Toronto, Canada.
"They call us, threaten. They say it is time for us to go out of Canada," she told reporters on Sunday. She thinks she really should leave the country. "We have not found in the country what we were promised - democracy." “But I will return home only with the bodies of my nephews," she noted.
Twenty-six-year-old Tamerlan was killed in the exchange of fire with police last Thursday in Boston’s suburbs. Nineteen-year-old Dzhokhar wounded in the neck and with a leg wound, was arrested on Friday. He is in serious condition in hospital under guard.
Tsarnaeva, a lawyer by profession, does not believe her nephews could commit an act of terror. They were used, she believes. "They are made enemies of America. They became victims of a plot," she said.
