Russia imposes passenger control on border over avian flu

MOSCOW, April 13 (Itar-Tass) - Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare Gennady Onishchenko has ordered passenger control on Russia’s border because of avian influenza in neighbouring countries.

“The situation there [in China] continues to grow both in terms of the number of people and areas affected,” he said on Saturday, April 13.
