TOKYO, April 11 (Itar-Tass) - At least one Musudan mobile cruise missile, installed in the area of the Wonsan city on the east coast of North Korea has been put in the launch position. However, it is not ruled out that it has been done in order to confuse those who monitor North Korea from space a Japanese Defence Ministry official told journalists in Tokyo on Thursday.
He suggested that North Korea soon may carry out simultaneous launches of several Musudan ballistic missiles with the supposed range of up to four thousand kilometres and the Nodong missiles with the range of 1.3 thousand kilometres.
The Japanese Defence Ministry personnel in connection with Pyongyang’s recent actions have been transferred to a round-the-clock work regime.
According to some date, more than ten different types of missiles are currently deployed on combat positions on the east coast of North Korea. Among them there are at least two Musudan mobile missiles, which in theory can hit targets throughout Japan and in the Pacific island of Guam that belongs to the United States. Seoul government sources reported that the Musudan missiles are periodically carried to shelters on mobile launchers in order to avoid their observation from space.
Four-five mobile units with the Scud missiles with the range of 300-500 kilometres and Nodong missiles on coast of the Sea of Japan (East Sea) in South Hamgyong province, north of the city of Wonsan are moving all the time. Pyongyang, in the view of the sources, is delaying the launches to weaken the attention the United States, South Korea and Japan. Seoul also does not rule out that filling with liquid fuel of the Musudan missiles has not yet been completed.
