N Korea strike plan targets US military bases in Japan - Rodong Sinmun

On Saturday North Korea officially announced that “the long-standing situation of the Korean Peninsula being neither at peace nor at war is finally over

TOKYO, March 31 (Itar-Tass) – The U.S. military bases located on the territory of Japan will be considered as targets for North Korea’s missile attacks if large-scale military actions start on the Korean Peninsula, North Korea’s Rodong Sinmun newspaper said on Sunday.

According to the daily of the Workers’ Party of Korea, these are Misawa Air Base in Japan’s Aomori Prefecture (684 kilometers north of Tokyo), Yokosuka Navy Base in Kanagawa Prefecture (65 kilometers south of Tokyo) and U.S. military facilities in Okinawa Prefecture, southern Japan.

On Saturday North Korea officially announced that “the long-standing situation of the Korean Peninsula being neither at peace nor at war is finally over.” “As of now, inter-Korea relations enter a state of war.”

On Friday North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as the commander-in-chief signed “the final plan for the technical preparation of the strategic missile troops to carry out a strike against military bases on the continental part of the United States, in Guam and Hawaii and in South Korea in case of an enemy provocation”.

Such a measure had been taken after two strategic bombers B-2 of the U.S. Air Force hit training targets on South Korea’s firing range on March 28 within the framework of the ongoing training series Fowl Eagle that started on March 1 and will last until April 30.
