The Prime Minister’s driver and bodyguards had to do some manual labor so as to recover the car from captivity in the snow

KIEV, March (Itar-Tass) – A car carrying Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov got stuck in a snowdrift on the approaches to the Darnitsky bridge in Kiev Sunday, the Kiev-based Channel Five said.

The Prime Minister’s driver and bodyguards had to do some manual labor so as to recover the car from captivity in the snow.

Ukraine has stayed in the grips of an unprecedented cyclone over the past two days. The blizzards untypical of this period of the year paralyzed traffic on the roads and railways and put under heavy strain the supplies of electricity due to failures of power transmission lines.

Forecasts promise a certain improvement of the situation in the coming few days but warn that flurries of snow and sleet are still possible in the northeast, southeast and eastern regions of the country.
