MOSCOW, March 15 (Itar-Tass) – State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin said he will take part in the enthronement of new Pope Francis.
“On Tuesday, March 19, I’ll represent the Russian Federation to take part in the enthronement of the new Pope,” Naryshkin said.
The ceremony will be held in the Vatican on March 19.
Argentina’s Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76, who had been archbishop of Buenos Aires, was elected as new Pope Francis on Wednesday, March 13, after the two-day College of Cardinals.
Pope Francis replaced Benedict XVI, who stepped down from office.
