German doctors ready to render aid to Timoshenko

Everything will depend on if Timoshenko want to continue treatment and if an allowance is gotten from the local authorities

BERLIN, February 23 (Itar-Tass) – Doctors of Charite Hospital proposed Ukrainian former prime minister Yulia Timoshenko to continue medical treatment if she is transferred to a custody centre, professor Karl Max Einhopl said on Saturday.

“Everything will depend on if Timoshenko want to continue treatment and if an allowance is gotten from the local authorities,” the Charite head said.

The Ukrainian ex-premier is planning to be inspected by specialists of the Berlin clinic on Monday, February 25, Einhopl said.

On Friday, February 22, the commission of the Ukrainian Healthcare Ministry decided that Timoshenko had undertaken enough physiotherapeutic procedures and that she was not needed hospital treatment. Thus, it was not ruled out that Timoshenko would be discharged from Ukrzheldoroga’s hospital in Kharkov.

Timoshenko is serving a 7-year sentence at the Kachanovskaya penitentiary in the town of Kharkov, for exceeding her authority when signing the gas agreement with Russia in 2009. She has been in a Kharkov hospital in the recent months.
