Russia and Brazil sign documents on cooperation

A declaration of intent was signed by the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation and the Brazilian Defence Ministry in their presence

BRASILIA, February 20 (Itar-Tass) – Russia and Brazil signed a number of documents after a meeting of the bilateral high-level commission on cooperation on Wednesday, February 20.

Its co-chairmen – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Brazilian Vice President Michel Temer – signed a joint declaration.

A declaration of intent was signed by the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation and the Brazilian Defence Ministry in their presence.

The two sides also signed an agreement between the ministries of agriculture with regard to phytosanitary requirements and quality of wheat supplied from Russia to Brazil and an action plan for the implementation of the memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of Olympic and Paralympic Games and FIFA World Cup management and heritage.

Two memorandums – on mutual assistance between the ministries of education in implementing the “Science without Borders” programme, and between the ministries and economic development in the field of small and medium-term business – were also signed.

Russia’s research and production corporation Precision Instrument Making Systems and Brasilia University signed a contract to install a quantum-optical station at the university to determine the line-of-sight distance to spacecraft.
