MOSCOW, February 4 (Itar-Tass) – President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Russian national team on its victory in the XXXIII World Ball Hockey Championship.

Russia beat Sweden 4:3.

“You did a commendable job in all the championship matches, invariably demonstrating your high skill level, your will and team spirit, and you had an outstanding victory in the final round against your primary competitors, the Swedish national team,” Putin said.

The Russian national ball hockey team became seven-time world champion. The USSR national team was victorious in the ball hockey world championships 14 times, the president.
