MOSCOW, January 26 (Itar-Tass) – The general director of Moscow’s Mosfilm studios Karen Shakhnazarov has invited Gerard Depardieu to cooperate.
“I cannot say that I know the details of all Mosfilm plans, but I do foresee the possibility some film director might invite Depardieu,” Shakhnazarov told a news conference in Moscow.
“It might be a good idea,” Shakhnazarov said. “We have already worked with Depardieu in the film Rasputin. We do have some experience of working with Depardieu. I would like to say that he is a good actor and a bright personality. Also, he is a real charmer. So why not?” Shakhnazarov said.
In his opinion one of the problems of Russia’s film industry is poor cooperation with French counterparts.
“Projects with the European film industry, with foreign film makers in general are too few. That’s one of our problems. I welcome any forms of such cooperation,” Shakhnazarov said.
