MOSCOW, January 19 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian tourists who got in a road accident in France will go home by charter flights, the Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass on Saturday, January 19.

“The Russian citizens who got involved in the road accident in France will be brought back home by charter flights to be organised by the travel operator Ertsog,” the ministry said.

A bus belonging to a French logistics company, which was carrying Russian tourists from an alpine skiing resort to Grenoble’s airport got in a road accident on Saturday morning because of bad weather in the area of Chambery.

“The bus driver lost control, the vehicle skidded off the road and overturned,” the Savoie Prefecture said. No one was killed. According to the French authorities, there were 44 Russian tourists in the bus.

Rostourism spokesperson IrinaShchegolkova said earlier in the day that a group of 23 tourists involved in the road accident in Grenoble was on the way to Russia. The plane is to land in Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport shortly.

She said that “another 20 Russian tourists, who were also in the affected bus, remain in France for the time being” and “all of them have received necessary medical attention”.

According to the travel operator, which sent the Russian tourists to France, nine of them will be discharged from hospital on Saturday evening as their condition “raises no concern”.

Shchegolkova said that if the tourists leave the hospital as expected, they would fly home by the nearest flights.
