Russia suspend work of its consulate general in Syria’s Aleppo

The situation in Aleppo is extremely tense

MOSCOW, January 15 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian foreign ministry has informed about temporary closure of its consulate general in Syria’s city of Aleppo over fierce clashes between the governmental troops and rebels.

All consular issues may be settled at the consular department of the Russian embassy in Damascus, the ministry said in a release posted on the embassy’s website on Tuesday.

The situation in Aleppo is extremely tense. At least 15 people were killed, tens were injured in an explosion at the local university on Tuesday, according to media reports.
