KRASNODAR, January 9 (Itar-Tass) — Gerard Depardieu has been invited to settle in the Krasnodar region, in particular, in the Belorechensky region in the south of Russia. A corresponding telegram with an invitation to the famous French actor to settle in the Krasnodar region has already been sent to him, said Chief of the local administration Ivan Imgrunt on Wednesday.
Gerard Depardieu is unlikely to find a better place to live in, the chief of the local administration said. He praised ideal climatic conditions in his region, it’s convenient geographical location, friendly people and very beautiful women.
Last year the regional administration established a Council on Culture which incorporates prominent workers of art and culture and representatives of the clergy. The Council aims to upgrade the level of culture of the local population and teach them to appreciate spiritual values, advocate the ideals of patriotism among the youth and continue folk traditions. In the opinion of the head of the local administration Gerard Depardieu might make his contribution to the development of culture and arts in the region.
"It will big a big honor for us if Monsier Depardieu accepts our invitation to settle on our territory; he will be a welcome person for thousands of his admirers here. It is of no interest to us how much the actor has to pay in taxes, but his life experience, his unquestionable talent and culture are of great interest. We are ready to offer him housing on a rural territory and an occupation to his own taste," Ivan Imgrunt stressed.
