MOSCOW, January 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Beijing’s authorities introduce a 72-hours visa-free transit regime for citizens of 45 countries, including Russia.

The decision was made due to increase of foreign tourists visiting China’s capital city.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said “the right to stay in Beijing without visas for the period of three days will be granted to foreign transit passengers if they have visas of third countries and air tickets to the final destination.”

The countries on the list include the EU countries, the U.S., Canada, Japan, South Korea, Austrialia, New Zealand and others, the Russian foreign ministry said. The CIS country on the list, besides Russia, is Ukraine.
