Resumption of US military aid depends on Ukraine's steps — newspaper

The US-Ukrainian negotiations in Saudi Arabia are expected to take place on March 11

WASHINGTON, March 10. /TASS/. Further US decisions on the transfer of weapons and intelligence to Ukraine will depend on Kiev's steps to settle the conflict, The Washington Post reported.

Quoting unnamed US officials, the newspaper noted that "the resumption of military and intelligence support will depend on Ukrainian actions." At the same time, it emphasized that "Washington seeks to accelerate a ceasefire process between Moscow and Kiev." According to the newspaper, the US administration expresses "hope that Ukraine is ready to engage on a peace deal." Nevertheless, "formal resumption of intelligence-sharing between the United States and Ukraine could be a result" of the US and Ukrainian sides in Jeddah, the newspaper pointed out.

The US-Ukrainian negotiations in Saudi Arabia are expected to take place on March 11. The US side will be represented by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz, and special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

The special envoy told the Fox News Television a few hours earlier that the United States expects the upcoming March 11 meeting in Saudi Arabia to lead to significant progress in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the prospects of Washington resuming the provision of intelligence to Kiev will be one of the topics of discussion in Jeddah. At the same time, Witkoff admitted that the United States has not suspended the transfer of intelligence information to Kiev, which, according to Washington, is necessary for Ukrainian defense. US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States had almost resumed providing Ukraine with intelligence.
