Slovenian ambassador summoned to Russian MFA leaves without comment

Slovenian Ambassador to Moscow Darja Bavdaz Kuret remained at the ministry for about 15 minutes

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Slovenian Ambassador to Moscow Darja Bavdaz Kuret has left the Russian Foreign Ministry building where she was summoned in connection with Ljubljana's decision to expel a Russian diplomat without comment.

She remained at the ministry for about 15 minutes. The ambassador did not answer reporters' questions, a TASS correspondent said.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry told TASS that the Slovenian ambassador would be summoned to the ministry and informed about the Russian side's reaction to the expulsion of the Russian diplomat from Ljubljana on March 21.

On March 21, the Slovenian Press Agency quoted the country's Foreign Ministry as saying that the country's authorities had declared an employee of the Russian Embassy in Ljubljana persona non grata for allegedly "carrying out activities incompatible with his diplomatic status". The Russian Foreign Ministry vowed at the time to retaliate.
