UAE president congratulates Putin on winning election — Kremlin

Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan wished the Russian leader further success as head of state and thanked him for giving attention to strengthening Russia-UAE relations

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. In a phone call, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Vladimir Putin on his landslide victory in the Russian presidential election, the Kremlin said.

"In the phone conversation, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Vladimir Putin on his indisputable victory in the presidential election, wished him further success as head of state and thanked him for giving attention to strengthening Russia-UAE relations," the press service said in a statement after the talk.

Russia held its first-ever three-day presidential election on March 15-17. According to data from the Central Election Commission (CEC), incumbent Russian President Vladimir Putin, who ran as an independent, self-nominated candidate, garnered 87.28% of the vote, with 100% of the ballots counted. The voter turnout was the highest in Russia’s modern history, with 77.44% of eligible voters going to the polls.
