South Ossetia’s new president sees Russia as republic’s main ally

All opportunities for development are available to the republic thanks to the comprehensive assistance from Russia, Alan Gagloyev noted

TSKHINVAL, May 24. /TASS/. Russia is South Ossetia’s main ally, whose assistance has enabled the republic’s development, Alan Gagloyev said at the inauguration ceremony.

"All opportunities for development are available to us thanks to the comprehensive assistance from Russia, our main ally," said Gagloyev.

"We must live up to the great sacrifices the generations of our people have made, pursuing the path to independence from a belligerent Georgia," he said.
