Pentagon confirms recent trials of US hypersonic missile

Previously, it was reported that the US tested a hypersonic missile in mid-March in secret in order to avoid escalation of relations with Russia

WASHINGTON, April 5. /TASS/. US Department of Defense’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) confirmed Tuesday that the US Armed Forces tested a hypersonic missile recently.

"DARPA and its US Air Force partner recently completed a free flight test of the Lockheed Martin version of the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC)," DARPA website reads.

Previously, CNN reported citing its sources that the US tested a hypersonic missile in mid-March in secret in order to avoid escalation of relations with Russia. CNN underscored that this was the second test within the HAWC program, with the first carried out in September last year.
