US to continue dialogue with Russia on denuclearization of Korean Peninsula — spokesperson

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Vladivostok on April 25

WASHINGTON, April 23. /TASS/. The United States will continue dialogue with Russia on denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, a US Department of State Spokesperson told TASS on Tuesday.

"We are aware of reports," the spokesperson said, commenting on the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un scheduled for April 25.

"The United States and the international community is committed to the same goal - the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea. It is Chairman Kim's commitment to denuclearization upon which the world is focused," she added.

"[Russian] Deputy Foreign Minister Morgulov and [US] Special Representative Biegun will continue their dialogue to bridge any gaps on the way forward," she noted.
