Voter turnout in Ukraine’s runoff election reaches 45.26%

The voter turnout surpassed the 50-percent threshold in the Poltava, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk region

KIEV, April 21. /TASS/. The voter turnout in Ukraine’s runoff presidential elections on Sunday reached 45.26% as of 15:00 local time, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said after counting protocols from all the 199 constituencies.

The voter turnout surpassed the 50-percent threshold in the Poltava, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions. The lowest voter activity was reported from the Trans-Carpathian region (29.64%) and Ukraine’s western regions.

These results are basically the same as in the first round of voting two weeks ago, when it was 45.11% as of 15:00.

Runoff presidential election is being held in Ukraine on Sunday, with incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko and candidate from the Servant of the People party, showman Vladimir Zelensky, vying for the office.
