Death toll in Sri Lanka blasts exceeds 180 — media

MOSCOW, April 21. /TASS/. The death toll in a series of explosions that hit Sri Lanka during Easter celebrations on Sunday has reached 185, a local news portal Newsfirst reported citing local police.

Earlier reports said 160 people died and 500 others were wounded. According to the latest data, 35 foreigners are among those killed.

Six simultaneous blasts targeted three luxury hotels and a church in Colombo, and also two churches in a suburb of Negombo.

No extremist group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Minister of Economic Reforms Harsha de Silva tweeted that there were foreigners among the casualties. According to Reuters, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe convened an emergency meeting of the Security Council in connection with the blasts.
