Voter turnout in runoff election higher than in the first round — Zelensky’s campaign HQ

The runoff presidential election in Ukraine began at 8 a.m. local time on Sunday

KIEV, April 21. /TASS/. The campaign headquarters of Ukrainian presidential hopeful Vladimir Zelensky has recorded a higher voter turnout in the runoff presidential election on Sunday compared with the first round.

"At some ballot stations the voter turnout is now some 3-5% higher than in the previous round," the campaign headquarters said on Telegram.

According to the Central Election Commission, the voter turnout in the first round on March 31 reached 62.8%.

The runoff presidential election in Ukraine began at 8 a.m. local time on Sunday.

Ukrainians are flocking to the polls to cast their ballots for their next head of state. Actor Vladimir Zelensky, a member of the Servant of the People party, is challenging incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko for a shot at the highest political office in Ukraine.
