Over 130,000 police officers ensure security during Ukraine's presidential election

The Interior Ministry’s headquarters and regional centers across Ukraine began working at 8 a.m. on Sunday

KIEV, April 21. /TASS/. More than 130,000 law enforcement personnel will ensure security during the runoff presidential election in Ukraine on Sunday, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said.

"Over 130,000 law enforcement personnel will be on duty. Together with you we are building a new culture of the election process," Avakov wrote on his Facebook page.

Ukraine’s police will be on duty at 197 local election commissions and nearly 30,000 polling stations.

The Interior Ministry’s headquarters and regional centers across Ukraine began working at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The runoff presidential election in Ukraine began at 8 a.m. local time on Sunday. Ukrainians are flocking to the polls to cast their ballots for their next head of state.
