TASS, April 20. US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo had telephone conversations with both candidates for Ukrainian president, Vladimir Zelensky and Pyotr Poroshenko, on Friday, US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker wrote on his Twitter account.

"Secretary Pompeo called both candidates tonight to underscore support for Ukraine’s sovereignty & territorial integrity & reiterated our commitment to working with whomever the Ukrainian people choose to ensure the success of a secure, prosperous, democratic, & free," he tweeted.

Earlier, the press service of Ukraine’s incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko said that the president had had a telephone conversation with Pompeo. The focus was made on the situation in Donbass and around Privatbank.
