Japan will cooperate with Russia on North Korea — ambassador

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Japan will continue to cooperate with the international community, including Russia, on the issue of settlement on the Korean Peninsula, Japanese Ambassador to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki said in an interview with TASS.

According to the ambassador, the issue of ensuring peace and security in the region should be discussed by all interested countries, including Japan. "We will continue to cooperate with the international community, including Russia, with the aim of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula," Kozuki noted.

In response to a question concerning the format of Korean settlement, Kozuki stressed the need to urge Pyongyang to take concrete measures. The Japanese diplomat reaffirmed Tokyo’s intention to continue supporting the US-North Korea process.
